Q: Do you have a lab for blood testing, etc.?
A: Yes, we have our own in-house lab for blood work, urine, and fecal analysis. We can also test for Parvo, Heartworm & Feline Leukemia FeLV.
Copies of the results of any tests are provided to you, for review by your primary care veterinarian.
We can provide you with a complete health profile in less than an hour, depending on the clotting factor of your pet's blood sample. Our Doctor will go over the test results with you and explain the results. What the results indicate and answer any questions you might have.
Q: Do you treat poisoning?
A: Yes, we treat toxic poisonings, such as ingested chemicals, human medications, insecticides, rat poison ingestion, Bufo toad toxicity and snake bites.
Be aware that some of the symptoms of toxic poisoning are: vomiting, diarrhea, hypersalivation (sometimes owners will say their pet is foaming at the mouth), unsteady walking or falling over.
These symptoms can also indicate other diseases and are not to be ignored especially if you have one of the toy breed dogs. These animals cannot afford to lose much of their fluid content. They become critical very rapidly.
Q: Do you perform major surgeries?
A: Yes, we perform many types of surgery here. Anything from a simple laceration or abscess to a major surgery such as an exploratory for foreign bodies that cause obstructions, the removal of tumors or in some cases we have been able to diagnose and remove canine spleens before they rupture and it is too late to save the pet.
The most important thing that determines the outcome of a surgery of any type is YOU. Owners today are not aware of how important it is not to wait.
When YOU notice your pet is vomiting or has diarrhea, these are important symptoms of diseases. And if your pet stops wanting to eat, don't try to tempt him with treats and people food. If an animal stops eating it is usually because he or she is ill. This is one of the first signs you might see.
Most of all never hesitate to phone us, if you have a question or a concern just pick up the phone and call us. If we are open our staff can let you know if it is something to be concerned about, or if you need to bring your pet in for the doctor to examine him.
Q: Do you perform minor surgeries?
A: Yes, we perform Minor surgery such as laceration repair and abscesses. Also, fishing hook removal and bones caught on your dog's teeth (if this happens, time is important because of tissue swelling and gum damage).
And then there is the minor surgery when a toenail is too long and gets caught in the carpet and breaks off exposing the nerve and the blood supply and you just can't stop the bleeding. This injury is both painful and repairable.
Q: Do you take X-Rays?
A: Yes, we do take X-Rays, when they are necessary and only with your prior approval. When our doctor believes that a diagnostic X-Ray will help in diagnosing your pets problem, he will explain why and what he is looking for. All of our doctors are prepared to read and explain the X-Ray findings with you at the time of your visit. Any X-Rays will go with you when you and your pet are discharged from our facility so that your primary care veterinarian can review them as well.
The X-Rays belong to you and you will take them with you.
Q: Do you have a payment plan?
A: Payment is due at the time of service. We can take credit card payments over the phone from friends, family, or co-workers, with proper ID. We accept most forms of payment, cash, credit cards, checks, and Care Credit (6
months interest free for charges over $200.00).
Q: Do you perform Euthanasias?
A: Yes, we perform Euthanasia services. We require sedation for your pet to insure it is a painless and stress free passing.
We are also happy to allow you to stay with your beloved friend during the procedure.
Q: Do you offer Cremation Services?
A: Yes, we offer cremation services. We offer both communal cremations where you do not receive the ashes back, and PRIVATE cremation where your pet is cremated by their self and the ashes are returned to you in an urn with an engraved plate on it. You can put two lines of engraving on the plate, up to 25 characters per line.
Q: Will my hospitalized pet be supervised or left unattended?
A: When we are open, there is always one doctor and at least one technician present to observe and assist your pet.
